Pet portraits make the ideal gift for a loved one or a beautiful keepsake of your ‘best friend’. Whatever the reason, creating the perfect portrait and capturing the animals personality is my passion. If you would like to enquire about a commission or just have query about the process, please do get in touch via the contact page.

How it Works

The Photo

I work from photographs and where ever possible prefer to meet the animal to take photos.

During the photography session I take many images. I believe that meeting the animal gives me a great opportunity to get a feel for their character. We can also use this time discuss any questions that you may have.

Sometimes either distance, the animal has sadly passed away or the portrait is a surprise present can make organising a photo session tricky. In these circumstances I am very happy to work form your own photography providing the quality is good enough. Please click below for tips on taking the perfect photos for a portrait.

The Composition

Once I’ve snapped away I’ll pop the kettle on at home and narrow down the images to the ‘best of the best’ for you to choose your favourite.

When you have chosen your preferred photo I take a 20 % non refundable deposit and then its straight to the studio for the fun part, creating your beautiful portrait.

The Completed Portrait

Once I have finished the portrait I will send you a photograph for your approval. Any final tweaks can be made at this point if needed. As long as you are happy with the end result the remainder of the balance will then be paid.

Framing & Postage

All paintings/charcoals will come in a double mount so that they are ready to be received as a gift. There are many different framing options available and as such I usually leave it up to the owner to frame. I do, however, have a great framer just around the corner from where I live and if you would like help with framing and/or to discuss framing options, a framing service is available. If this is something you would like help with please just let me know during the commissioning process.

All paintings will be packaged and sent via a secure courier service. Shipping costs vary depending on size and weight, and whether the image is framed, but typically the cost is no more than £10 for an unframed image.

Gift Vouchers

Finally, if the present is a last minute decision or you aren’t that comfortable with the camera that’s absolutely no problem. I have gift vouchers available. Gift vouchers cost £35 and are valid for 12 months. They act as an initial payment towards your non refundable deposit, the balance of which will still need to be paid after I have finished photographing the animal and before i start painting.

Please ‘contact’ me if you would like to discuss or purchase one.
